Torquay Cricket Club has a proud and rich history; and ever since we were founded in 1851, we have endeavoured to play cricket with a competitive edge but always fairly and in the true spirit of the game. 2015 proved a landmark year in our journey, as all three of our senior sides won their respective leagues; and, hence, we go into the 2016 campaign as Champions of the Devon Premier League. As you might expect, we celebrate this success and strive every season to be the best we can be; but we are equally proud to be ‘Clubmark’ accredited. This means we are recognised as actively seeking to foster and promote participation in cricket in Torquay in a safe, child friendly environment where everyone is welcome irrespective of their age, gender or ethnicity. While we hope you enjoy our online offering, there is no substitute to savouring the experience for yourself; and so we extend a warm invitation to come and visit us in Torquay: a vibrant seaside town, set in a UNESCO global geopark; and often referred to as the English Riviera. Our ground, affectionately known as “The Rec”, nestles just off the sea front along the so-called “Agatha Christie Mile”, adjacent to the Grand Hotel and railway station. It occupies an idyllic setting; and offers easy access, parking close to the action; and plenty of famous Devon hospitality in our distinctive pavilion. For the aspiring cricketer, our net facilities are among the newest and best in the South West; and we have a cohort of qualified and enthusiastic coaches keen to pass on their knowledge and experience.
