About The Palace Theatre ~
The Palace Theatre is a true community theatre for the English Riviera, set in the heart of Paignton , and is the oldest working theatre in Torbay, constructed back in 1890. It is owned and run by Torbay Council. The theatre has a seating capacity of 380. It has undergone a major refurbishment and it looks fantastic.
Paignton Pantomime Productions is proud of it’s history and of all those dedicated people who, throughout it’s eighty years existence, have worked so hard to present a pantomime to the residents of Paignton and South Devon each Christmas.
Doorstep Arts works in residence at the Palace Theatre, providing weekly drama classes for children and young people aged 4-25.
Folk Orchestra. This is a weekly musical workshop group for people of all ages 14 upward, for all instruments and abilities.
Bijou Theatre Productions produce four productions per year. The Bijou is a Theatre Club that has an audience membership.
Robert Owen Foundation Operates from within the Palace Theatre and is a creative platform for people to express their artistic side.
