Ringmore Shaldon

Only a few miles away and the very close neighbour of Shaldon is Ringmore.

Ringmore

Ringmore is a small village on the river Teign, a few hundred yards from Shaldon, but on the upper estuary side of the Teignmouth to Shaldon bridge. Its can also be reached via Combeinteignhead from the Newton Abbot direction.

Shaldon

Shaldon can be a bustling holiday village in the summer and can be quite claustrophobic when the regatta is running or there are events ongoing! This to many people is the essential part of mixing with the local community and being part of something larger! Ringmore only a short walk away tends to be quieter and a good place to return to for overnight stays and hideaway!  There are limited hotels in the area but some excellent holiday rentals in nearby Shaldon.

Ringmore is mentioned in the Domesday book but much more information is available from 1600 onwards. Ringmore is a precursor to Shaldon itself, much of which is built in reclaimed land.
