Beacon Cove

Beacon Cove

Beacon Cove Torquay is a small sheltered cove next to the harbourside and quite well hidden! It used to be known as Lady's Bathing Cove, being a favourite with the ladies during the victorian period and later.

Torquay Lifeboat station was located here until 1923 when the building was converted to a Beach Cafe. The beach cafe was removed in 1975 and Beacon Cove was restored to it quite  former glory .

Beacon Cove has a small promenade, a shingle beach and is located in a  lovely sheltered position making it an ideal spot to  sunbath and enjoy the lovely view across the bay. It is also frequented by local dog walkers whose pups like to swim!
