Torquay & Torbay- A Blue Chip Destination
The following comes from an online dictionary: “A nationally recognized, well-established and financially sound company. Blue chips generally sell high-quality, widely accepted products and services. Blue chip companies are known to weather downturns and operate profitably in the face of adverse economic conditions, which helps to contribute to their long record of stable and reliable growth.”
The whole of Torbay has weathered many storms, both actual and economic, so in some ways the bay and its businesses could be termed “Blue Chip”. The reasons for this are simple. Unlike other original Victorian seaside towns, Torquay, Paignton and Brixham have pulled together under one umbrella of Torbay and its new marketing name, “The English Riviera”.
Not only that, a close look a the Balance Sheets and trading of some local companies and you will see a number of success stories. The bay is also home to many successful local attractions, which reinvest year on year to the benefit of the tourist industry. Examples of this can be found in all the local attractions that can be found on this site.
In summary, we believe that Torquay and Torbay is a great place to locate businesses and will continue to be a place people wish to set up home, holiday and retire.
ps. We also have a casino, so be careful with your own Blue Chips!
