Galmpton is largely unknown to visitors and is a small village situated west of Brixham in the parish of Churston Ferrers.

Locally it is well known for its football team Galmpton United F.C., its excellent Grammar School and for toursim the “Greenway Estate”, which is a Grade II listed house and gardens acquired by the National Trust and was the home of the well known and record breaking author, Agatha Christie.

Nowdays the the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway has a station at Churston less than a mile from Galmpton and has opened a new station at Greenway Halt, where passengers can alight and walk to Agatha Christie’s old home!

Galmpton has a pub (the Manor) and a creek where there is a small tidal marina and plenty of rural walks. There is a back road to Stoke Gabriel, which is also generally unknown to the visiting public. It has typically high hedges and is a winding country road with some views and great houses!
