Paignton Festival is a very good event that takes places every year during the summer months of July and August. There is an amazing atmosphere and fun for all the family, from clowns to live music there is something for everyone and I am excited to be bringing this to you.
With the name of the event changing for the year of 2017 we hope to bring you a lot more fun and entertainment while keeping the same ethos we’ve had for over 100 years. Since the first event in 1909 we have been run by a small, dedicated team of volunteers and committee members and solely from donations from our main sponsors Anderton & Rowlands Fun Fair and Babbacombe Inn, also from local businesses and traders, as well as from members of the local public.
As the years go on, Paignton Festival is proud to be one of, if not the best events put on in the south west, and with no entry fee, we feel that we have the edge over some of our main competitors.
Despite the new name of Paignton Festival, Torbay Carnival is not gone for good, as the procession night will up keep that name.
The structure of the event will remain the same, with the party on the green taking place on the opening night, the procession taking place on the Wednesday and Dubs on the Beach taking place on the last Sunday.
Dubs at the Beach
VW Vehicle Show Paignton
Dubs at the Beach is back for 2017. The show consists of 2 nights camping in Churston (in between Paignton and Brixham). Then on the Sunday all the vans cruise down to Paignton Seafront for the usual ‘Show and Shine’ events in a wonderful setting right on the beach. As in the previous years the show will have its very own auto-jumble, trade stalls, kids entertainment, refreshments and more.
Over the past years the show has been a massive success with Volkswagen enthusiasts coming from all over the country and this year we want the show to be bigger and better than ever and aim to fill the green capacity. The website is still being worked on but remember you can still get your tickets by going to dubsatthebeach.co.uk, (your ticket will be emailed to you upon completion of your order).
Please note there is a limited number of camping plots. Tickets bought on line come with free entrance to the Sunday beach front. Children under 16 years of age go free: Info: Parking on the sea front green Sunday Everybody who has purchased camping tickets will be given 1 vehicle pass on arrival at the campsite to be displayed in their vehicles on the Sunday at the sea front. We only have 250 camping plots available, so if you want to join in the fun, then you need to buy your tickets ASAP!!!. .

Shaldon Water Carnival
Every year the Shaldon Water Carnival Committee put on an event to rival the most eccentric of ceremonies.
Somewhere between a carnival and a regatta, the Shaldon Water Carnival provides a day of creative explosions, colourful entertainment and nautical brilliance.
It is difficult to encapsulate exactly what the carnival entails, as there is a myriad of events throughout the day. The earlier stages of the celebrations take place on Ferry Beach, but it is far from a conventional trip to the seaside. Beach competitions of many natures are among the highlights of the day, along with an assortment of stalls.
The carnival makes the absolute most of Shaldon’s seaside location, by offering activities such as sand sculpturing and crab collecting. The kids will love it, whether they want to take part in the fancy dress parade or get down to some quiet painting, they are catered for. Adults are not forgotten though, chef demonstrations and craft stalls run throughout the day.
The money raised goes towards local clubs, charities and organisations which are often connected to young people. Shaldon Water Carnival is the personification of community spirit, wherein for one day in August normal responsibilities are dropped and the town comes together for a day of merriment.
