Coleton Fishacre Aglow ~ Kingswear

1431735988878-coletonaglow2This December why not wrap up warm and explore the garden at Coleton Fishacre as it is aglow with festive light? The house, streams, beautiful trees and exotic features of the garden will once again be lit for Christmas in spectacular fashion.

The garden at night ~
A walk through the garden during Coleton aglow truly delights. The route leads you down past the front of the house where a giant Christmas tree will be the show-stopper, next to the Rill Garden where the stream through the centre of the garden will be filled with light and the colours of the summer recreated with uplighters. Down through the centre of the garden the ponds and trees will be awash with warm and colourful light, and above your heads will be swags of festoon lighting. At the bottom of the garden you’ll reach the fairy glade and cross the troll bridge, before coming back up the garden to the summer house, where you can take a moment to admire the views across the route you’ve just walked.

This walk takes about 40 minutes, after which you can warm up in the house. There is also a short route which leads past the house to the gazebo and back, if you aren’t up for walking the entire route.

Festive food, drink and gifts ~
To really put you in the Christmas spirit, a visit to the café and shop are a must. Café Coleton is serving take-away hot drinks and food which you can enjoy as you wander through the garden, and the shop is filled with gifts and Christmas decorations.

Dates, times and booking ~
Coleton aglow is running from 5-7.30pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings in December (excluding Christmas Eve and Christmas Day), as well as 27-31 December.

Normal admissions apply for Coleton aglow, and of course, entry will be free for National Trust members and under-fives.

Booking is essential; please call 01803 842382 to book.

The Santa Express ~ Paignton

Featuring Aladdin and the Golden Lamp.

Calling all children – both young and old! We need your help to find the Genie, help Aladdin escape the

imgresclutches of Jafar and welcome Father Christmas and his helpers on the Santa Express.

You will arrive at Queen’s Park Station, Paignton (TQ4 6AF) for your return journey to Kingswear. During your journey you will be entertained by Aladdin, Jasmin, Jafar and the Genie performing a mini pantomime to get you in the spirit to greet Father Christmas – who will visit you at your seat with his sleigh and band of merry helpers. Make sure you help Aladdin and perhaps his Genie wish will be that you receive a gift from Santa (children aged 19 months to 15 years only).

Whilst on the Santa Express you will be offered a glass of mulled wine and festive mince pie (adults only). Balloon modelling and lineside I-Spy ensure that every member of the family is involved in this truly magical experience.

This is a fully ticketed event so pre-booking is essential. If you wish to travel with another party please inform us at the time of booking and we will do our utmost to accommodate you all together.

Please ensure you arrive at least 30 minutes before your Santa Express departure time. The Head of Steam café will be open serving tea, coffee, (fabulous!) hot chocolate and snacks.
