Brixfest 2017 – Multi Award Winning Event
Welcome to BrixFest 2017 – the award-winning annual family festival in Brixham, Torbay (Devon), celebrating the beautiful town and it’s heritage.
BrixFest is a festival celebrating Brixham’s fascinating maritime heritage and vibrant present day culture. Historic fishing trawlers, seafood, live music and fireworks will be combined to celebrate the best of Brixham past and present.
The Heritage Trawler Regatta is a festival highlight. Local chefs will give seafood cooking demonstrations and locally produced beers and ciders will be available. There will also be demonstrations of traditional fishing-related skills including crab and lobster pot weaving, knot tying and rope making.
Fireworks, children’s day, live music, cooking demonstrations, heritage craft exhibitions, crabbing competitions, vintage car rally
Paignton Festival is a very good event that takes places every year during the summer months of July and August. There is an amazing atmosphere and fun for all the family, from clowns to live music there is something for everyone and I am excited to be bringing this to you.
With the name of the event changing for the year of 2017 we hope to bring you a lot more fun and entertainment while keeping the same ethos we’ve had for over 100 years. Since the first event in 1909 we have been run by a small, dedicated team of volunteers and committee members and solely from donations from our main sponsors Anderton & Rowlands Fun Fair and Babbacombe Inn, also from local businesses and traders, as well as from members of the local public.
As the years go on, Paignton Festival is proud to be one of, if not the best events put on in the south west, and with no entry fee, we feel that we have the edge over some of our main competitors.
Despite the new name of Paignton Festival, Torbay Carnival is not gone for good, as the procession night will up keep that name.
The structure of the event will remain the same, with the party on the green taking place on the opening night, the procession taking place on the Wednesday and Dubs on the Beach taking place on the last Sunday.
5th – 13th August 2017
