BMAD BIKE & MUSIC FESTIVAL
28th – 30th April 2017
It started in 2002 with an idea by the founders of Bikers Make A Difference – BMAD, Kelvin and Jane Halloran. That idea was to have a social gathering of bikers on Paignton Seafront in Devon. He wanted to raise money for charity and have a good time as well. Which is exactly what has happened.
Paignton Bike Night finally saw its birth in 2003 and has gone on to become the longest running largest regular social gathering of bikers in the South West of England.
Each year on Paignton Seafront we regularly have a mile of bikes parked side by side every Wednesday evening from the beginning of June to the end of Sept.
Due to the success of Paignton Bike Nights we now organise a Bike Festival weekend called Paignton Bike Festival which is held on Paignton Seafront in Devon.

Brixham Pirates Festival 2017
There will be LOTS of pirates, military and period re-enactors here with guns to make plenty of noise! We will make sure there is plenty of music too with shanties and pirate rock to keep ye hoppin’. Buskers, jugglers and other entertainers will perform around the streets and harbour of Brixham. There will be other shows, reenactments and events around the town through the weekend.
The festival takes place throughout the town with main stage right next to the Golden Hind boat in the inner harbour. The family stage will be in the Central Car park area by the bus stop.
We aim to make the festival suitable for everyone and all ages. There will be events for the kids to watch and take part in like shows and street acts. Historical reenactments and plays during the day. Fancy dress competition for young children. Music to suit all tastes and more music in the (pirate filled) pubs in the evening. There will be GUNS & MUSIC so it might be LOUD!
Please dress up if you can, whatever you can manage will be fine even if it is just an eye-patch! There will be LOTS of pirates in costume right through the weekend so you will fit right in. We stay in costume in the evening too.
Dart Music Festival ~ Dartmouth
In 2017, May 12, 13, & 14 ~ We Celebrate 20 Years
The Dart Music Festival was started nearly 20 years ago by Rob and Di Lyon of Dartmouth (now Mayor of Dartmouth). It is an annual music event over three days, which was thought of initially to help improve the length of the tourist season for the small riverside town of Dartmouth and its tourism based businesses.
We have over 100 acts performing in over 20 closely sited town venues. These include churches, arts centre, restaurants and hotels. Our main area (centred around wonderful gardens and bandstand) is next to the river’s edge, surrounded with cafes and bars. There are many open air street-based performances making for a constant buzz of enjoyment over all three days. Many of the musicians, both amateur and professional, are from the West Country but we strive to be inclusive and attract national and international acts.
We are a not-for-profit organisation and have formed a ‘Dart Music Foundation’ whereby young hopefuls can apply for grants to help with music lessons, equipment and other associated costs relating to their musical progression.

Devon County Show
There’s only one place in Devon where on just three days of the year the county is revealed in all its glory! We’re looking forward to treating our visitors to the best of food, farming and entertainment all in one day.
Farming is at the very heart of the Show – stockmen and women from the county and beyond will be competing in the show ring and agricultural machinery and suppliers will be out in force. There’ll be literally thousands of animals – from exceptional livestock to dazzling Arab horses, family ponies, canine superstars competing in the pedigree Dog Show, lofty alpacas and pigeons, rabbits and guinea pigs. We’re putting together a thrilling programme of day-long entertainment. Get ready to buckle up for a monster ride with the UK’s number one Monster Truck team in the Mole Valley Farmers Main Arena. And have a go at driving a tractor!
When it comes to food and drink, we’re going large! Our fabulous Food & Drink Pavilion will be even bigger – and it’ll have a seating area where visitors can tuck into what they’ve just bought. And we’re delighted that top chef Michael Caines will be cooking up some incredible dishes in our cookery demonstration theatre.
There’ll be lots of hands-on activities for children. At the Children’s Farm they can get involved in the milking, experience hands-on baking, plant seeds and see the Sheep Show. Get the buzz in the Bees & Honey marquee- where they can spot the queen bee and make a candle. Plus, lots more!

Brixham Heritage Sailing Regatta
27th – 28th May 2017
The Brixham Heritage Sailing Regatta has its roots in the Sailing Trawler races that have been held in Torbay since the early 1800’s. In 1914, King George V presented the Perpetual Challenge Cup also popularly known as the ‘King George V Cup’ or the ‘Kings Cup’, to be raced for by Brixham registered sailing trawlers over 40 tons. This was competed for annually from 1919 until 1939 when the war ended racing and sailing trawlers were rapidly being retired. Racing did not resume after the War, but the Brixham Heritage Sailing Regatta was revived by enthusiasts in 1997.
The dates for the 2017 Heritage Sailing Regatta are Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May. Consequently, Regatta arrivals can be on the Friday or Saturday with the Fish Supper, Festivities and Fireworks on the Saturday evening and the Skippers Briefing, Regatta, Prize Giving, Raffle and possibly Live Music on the Sunday. It also leaves the Bank Holiday Monday free for crews to sail home. It will be a very similar proven format to 2016.
