As usual, our official opening at 11am on Saturday 26th May features an appearance by a local VIP and music from Brixham Town Band. The opening will be followed by cooking demonstrations sponsored by England’s Seafood Coast featuring local chefs and ingredients. The chefs will be preparing local fish dishes and audience members will have a chance to taste the final product. Live Music by local musicians continues into the afternoon and evening – and the day culminates in our annual Grand Firework Display at 9:50pm.
Sunday 27th May sees the return of the annual BrixFest Dragonboat Challenge. Teams made up of local people battle it out along the Breakwater for victory – a chance to be crowned Brixham’s Dragonboat Champions! Look out for Buoys ‘n Belles – a team which have won the last two challenges in a row and hold the course-record…Also find the Arts & Craft Market run by Brixham Chamber of Commerce, all day underneath The Old Fish Market.
On Monday 28th the eagerly anticipated Children’s Day will bring together organisations from all over Torbay and Devon on Breakwater Beach, offering local and visiting children and families the chance to engage in free activities throughout the day. Face painting, drama workshops, interactive trails, local acoustic live music, balloon-animal making, build-a-boat and loads more on offer – all for free! A charity-stall mini-market takes place underneath The Old Fish Market on this day too.
Tuesday and Wednesday feature our Crabbing Competition and Vintage Car Rally respectively.
BrixFest 2018 will bring hundreds of artists, charities, chefs and local people together with thousands of visitors. Throughout the festival we encourage you to keep it local and spend your hard earned money in the local shops and restaurants.

Inaugurated by the local farming and town communities 100 years ago, the show has certainly moved with the times, but one of its aims still is to represent life in the wonderful South Hams. Every year we attract thousands of visitors, young and old and there is something for all of them.
We have exciting demonstrations, displays and parades in the Main Ring, our Music Stage speaks for itself and there’s even a sheep shearing competition.
Sheep, cattle and horses compete for showing honours and show jumping is as popular as ever. Amongst a whole host of other things, there’s a Home, Handicraft and Horticulture marquee, Craft Tent, Food Hall and a large trade stands section, offering a wide choice of goods and services.
So come and join us for a great day out on Sunday 29th July 2018 for our Centenary celebration show.
