Babbacombe Theatre ~ Torquay
Christmas Is Magical
An enormous hit with the Babbacombe Theatre audiences, this past two years has been Steve Laister. It is great to have him back again with even more side-splitting original humour that will make you laugh louder than ever. He is joined on stage by other artistes instantly recognisable to Babbacombe Theatre regulars, including International Illusionist Daniel Dean, a master of his craft who will not only amaze you, but leave you in wonder, as you ponder, “how did he do that?” Additionally, we welcome back the delightful Lindsey Collard, a talented actress and singing sensation, the effervescent Wayne ‘Champagne’ Martin who is literally up for anything to generate a laugh. You may be familiar too with our troupe of sassy dancers, Danze Magique, who execute wonderfully the highly acclaimed dance routines set by our choreographer, Sadie Oliver, set to the musical arrangements of the Musical Director, Pete Leonard.
Glitz and glamour come in all guises in this show of festive fun, with Disney favourites, Moana & Maui, dashing cavaliers and a host of heavenly angels. Look out though for the international travellers raising ‘a glass’ or ‘twelve’ of cheer, as they enjoy; just a little bit too much, of the Christmas Spirit!
Inspirational lighting, costume design, choreography and musical arrangements are without exception the icing on the Christmas cake in Christmas is…Magical. After all, the theatre experience is never just about the performance.
Christmas wouldn’t be half as much fun without the obligatory ‘Singalong’ and this show promises some true yuletide favourites, with White Christmas, Drummer Boy, Jingle Bells & Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Albeit with some, movie masterpieces highlighted, as well as pop hits and comedic classics that feature the song writing talents of the late greats, Benny Hill and Victoria Wood, you are promised a bountiful punch of musical moments.

Dart Music Festival ~ Dartmouth
In 2018, May 11, 12, & 13 ~ We Celebrate 21 Years
In 2018, we continue our ‘ FREE Music for All’ policy, all generously sponsored by fans and businesses.
Over 100 performances, spanning almost every musical genre. Based at venues throughout the town: pubs, churches, restaurants, in the open air – and it’s all FREE. So join us May 2018 11th – 13th.
A Brief history of Dart Music Festival:
The Dart Music Festival was started over 20 years ago – an annual music event over three days, which was initially to help improve the length of the tourist season for the small riverside town of Dartmouth and its tourism based businesses.
We have over 100 acts performing in over 20 closely sited town venues. These include churches, arts centre, restaurants and hotels. Our main area (centred around wonderful gardens and bandstand) is next to the river’s edge, surrounded with cafes and bars. There are many open air street-based performances making for a constant buzz of enjoyment over all three days. Many of the musicians, both amateur and professional, are from the West Country but we strive to be inclusive and attract national and international acts.
We are a not-for-profit organisation and have formed a ‘Dart Music Foundation’ whereby young hopefuls can apply for grants to help with music lessons, equipment and other associated costs relating to their musical progression.
